EL CERCADO BEGINS ITS JOURNEY AS A DESTINATION FOR ARTISTS AND RESEARCHERS

Transforming the El Cercado Ceramics Workshop School into a hub for artists and researchers, who are interested in exploring and learning about the ancestral pottery-making techniques, is part of the restoration project of this training center that is beginning to become a reality. Indeed, both hosts and visitors have been delighted as the master artisans who form the teaching staff have shared their knowledge with renowned creators such as the designer Titina Penzini, the ceramists Josselin Chalbaud and Christian Fontana, the plastic artists Emilia Azcárate and Julio Loaiza, and textile artist Isabella Rengifo, who have been welcomed to the school in recent months. The objective is to facilitate temporary stays for these visitors as a platform for a fruitful exchange of knowledge. So far, several artists and handicraft researchers have expressed interest in participating in this proposal. Their involvement will undoubtedly help to boost local activity within the community of El Cercado.
